Which models of BMW is the route transfer feature available for?

Route transfer is a service for BMW ConnectedDrive customers and is available in all vehicles with the latest generation of the iDrive operating system and the Professional navigation system. This means the BMW 1 Series and 3 Series (from production date 9/08), the BMW 7 Series (from production date 11/08) and the BMW 5 Series and 6 Series (from production date 12/08), the BMW Z4 (2009), the new BMW X1 (2009) as well as the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo (2009).

How do I transfer a route to the vehicle?

BMW ConnectedDrive contract customers have the exclusive option of storing routes in the BMW Online portal and importing them directly into their navigation system via the mobile phone connection in their BMW.
Transfer of routes via USB to your vehicle's navigation system is available to BMW drivers of the above-named models.

In which countries can I plan my own routes?

The planning of own routes and the route guidance according to the transfer vehicle will be available in the following countries:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

Is it possible that the routing on the Internet and in the vehicle differ?

Because the maps on the Internet and in the vehicle may differ, it is possible, though unlikely, that the route planned on the Internet and the route given by the navigation system may differ.

For which models of BMW are BMW ConnectedDrive products available?

BMW ConnectedDrive services can be used if you have ordered the BMW Assist, BMW Online, BMW TeleServices or Internet features. The various products on offer are subject to varying technical requirements and to availability, as described below. BMW Assist*, with the exception of the remote functions, is available for any model of BMW in conjunction with the Business mobile phone kit with Bluetooth interface and Professional navigation system or radio. The remote functions are available for the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series and the X5 and X6. (*BMW Assist includes the following services: extended emergency call, remote functions, My Info, send-to-car functions, telephone information service, and V-Info+). BMW Online**, with the exception of BMW Routes, driver profiles, POI Enrichment and online music track updating, is available in the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series as well as the X5 and X6. The services BMW Routes, driver profiles, POI Enrichment and online music track updating are available as part of the new iDrive in the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series und 7 Series in conjunction with the Professional navigation system. Other BMW models will be added in due course (**BMW Online includes the services: address book, BMW Routes, stock market, email account, driver profiles, Google business search, hotels and restaurants, country information, Map On Mobile, news, online music track updating, parking info, POI Enrichment, travel guide and weather). BMW Online and BMW Assist are available in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. With the exception of BMW Tracking, the information listed here relates to services provided in Germany. The services on offer vary between the aforementioned countries in which BMW ConnectedDrive is available.) The Internet service is available initially for the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series and 7 Series models. Other models will follow in due course. BMW Tracking is currently available in Italy and is available for any BMW model equipped with an alarm system.

BMW TeleServices are available in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Spain, Netherlands, Greece, the United Kingdom, Kuwait and Singapore. BMW TeleServices are available for all new models of BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series as well as the X5 and X6. The new services are available independently from any existing BMW Assist contract and are provided directly via the telephone unit built into the vehicle using a separate BMW SIM card. This means that any model of mobile phone approved by BMW can be used for the new BMW TeleServices. Additional requirements are a mobile phone kit with Bluetooth interface, the Business navigation system, the Professional navigation system, or the Professional radio in conjunction with the on-board monitor. The new BMW TeleServices are available as a free additional service on this basis.
